VIQ Solutions is seeking a capable and customer focused Resident AV Technician to support audio visual and recording technology within a high security court environment in Brisbane. This role sits within the Information Technology team and provides technical support across several court locations.
This opportunity will suit a technically capable AV professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently and supporting users in environments where reliability and accuracy are essential.

About the role
The Resident AV Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining installed recording and audio visual systems used within court environments. The role involves maintaining equipment, supporting video conferencing technology, troubleshooting faults and ensuring recording systems remain operational for court users.
Key responsibilities include
- Supporting and maintaining installed recording technologies
- Providing audio visual and video conferencing support for installed and portable systems
- Maintaining real time transcript recording systems
- Troubleshooting and repairing AV equipment including digital recorders, microphones, mixers and associated equipment
- Maintaining an asset register for AV equipment across client installations
- Documenting processes for installation and maintenance of audio equipment
- Supporting system upgrades and other technical projects as required
About you
You will bring strong technical AV knowledge together with excellent communication skills and a practical problem solving approach. The role requires someone who can work autonomously within a client environment and provide reliable technical support to end users.
Skills and experience
- Strong knowledge of computer based recording systems and audio formats
- Understanding of digital and analogue audio mixers and signal processing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- Basic understanding of IT networking
- Ability to troubleshoot audio visual systems and resolve equipment faults
- Strong attention to detail and time management capability
- Customer focused with clear communication skills
Desirable experience
- Experience in live sound environments
- Knowledge of acoustics and audio system configuration
- Experience with DSP mixers such as Biamp Tesira
- Familiarity with Microsoft or Cisco video conferencing solutions
- Experience with Crestron control systems
Additional requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
- Valid Australian working rights
- Ability to work independently within a client site environment
